| Ziele/Aims | Einblick in die Forschung im Feld der Theoretischen Biologie. Grundverständnis zu Modellentwicklung, -analyse, -implementierung und -simulation |
| Inhalte/Content | Anhand eines Projekts wird eine Einführung in das Gebiet der Theoretischen Biologie erfolgen. Hierbei geht es zum einen um die Rolle der Theoretischen Biologie im Forschungskontext und zum anderen um konkrete Methoden zur Analyse eines theoretischen Modells. Die Studierenden werden anhand eines wissenschaftlichen Artikels an eine Fragestellung aus einem Gebiet der Evolution, Ökologie oder Epidemiologie herangeführt, die dann mit Hilfe eines theoretischen Modells bearbeitet wird. Hierbei wird auf schon existierende Modelle zurückgegriffen. Diese werden bei Bedarf erweitert und durch Computersimulationen (und ggf. mathematischen Methoden) analysiert. |
